Human-like beings with the ability to shapeshift, and to steal and negate energy. They were originally created to stand guard at various mortal afterworlds, where they were tasked with absorbing excess, restless magic from arriving souls. During the events of Shadows and Crowns, Malaphar deployed them to cause havoc for Casia and her allies at various points.
